Airstar Packing and Crating Services, Inc. was formed in 1986 to meet the challenging needs of the transportation industry. Since then, it has expanded to meet the needs of all types of companies, taking on special packing and crating projects including movie props, computers, medical equipment, antiques, and fine art and furniture.

In 1999, we took on the work and original staff of General Commercial Packing whose first project in 1987 was the enormous task of crating all of the components and material for the construction of Euro-Disneyland. This project took four years during which they prepared for shipment over 700,000 cubic feet of highly unique and irreplaceable cargo. As Disney put it, our responsibility was, "protecting the magic".

Based on the success of Euro-Disney, we were subsequently awarded the contract to perform the same quality services for the Toontown area of Tokyo Disneyland. This undertaking required us to have a crew on-site at Disney Imagineering every day for a year.

For Universal Studios, we crated many of the props and special effects models that were used in the making of the movie "Apollo 13". These items were prepared and shipped to Orlando to be installed as an attraction at the theme park.

Delicate and sophisticated electronic instruments present no problem for our staff. In partnership with Laser Magic of Marina Del Rey, we packaged and transported a container load of highly fragile laser light effects equipment to be used as the centerpiece in a theme park/casino in New Orleans.

In an on-going partnership with Disney Stores, Inc., we have been involved in several challenging endeavors. One involved the hit movie "Flubber".

For "The Lord of the Rings", we built custom crates for the life-sized horse props so they could safely be shipped.

In 2002, we took on the challenge of crating numerous large, delicate replica displays for the Musuem of Miniatures and transported them to their newly relocated facility in Naples, Florida.
